We learned about nuclear science in the Engineering building on the UW-Madison campus.

On February 8-10 Troop 71 held its annual winter cabin weekend at Camp Long Lake.

On January 12, the Scouts of Troop 71 helped Cub Scouts from all over Potawatomi Area Council achieve their Scientist activity pins.

The Red Cross Blood Drive was a huge success. There were 63 donors and 62 pints of blood donated.

Our wreath sales have gone terrifically this year. There were a lot that needed to be delivered to satisfied customers all over the area.

We left the SJV parking lot for Mr. Winkelhake’s farm on Saturday morning, Nov 3, 2012. Mr. Winkelhake was the Scoutmaster of Troop 71 from 1990 until 2001. Every year, he hosts a cold weather campout at his farm near Jackson, WI. After lunch, for our service project, we helped cut down some trees and move the brush to the brush pile. We also picked up rocks from the field and put them into a trailer. We all had fun riding with the rocks in the trailer.

The Devil’s lake campout was from 9/28-9/30. We arrived at our campsite around 8:30 that evening. We had a double campsite with plenty of room for tents and dining flies. It was cold that night, but everybody still had fun with their friends. That night we had a cracker barrel set up with sausages and crackers.
